Kathleen LonsdaleDr Kathleen Lonsdale was a pioneering scientist who worked in the field of crystallography. Born in Newbridge, County Kildare, Ireland she lived most of her life in England. Her scientific career spanned almost fifty years from the early 1920s to 1971. She was also a passionate campaigner for peace and was imprisoned for her beliefs during World War Two.
