taking his wealth of musical proclivities-from the mountain music of his home state of North Carolina

and nuclear brinkmanship

using chord voicings which inspired the likes of Bill Evans who named her as one of his models of piano playing

which even today impress in rhetoric and emotionality without words

but the themes are richly varied and lend expression to the special characteristics and qualities of the various modes

including the extraordinary Requiem for Fallen Brothers which consequently lay forgotten for over a century
