Vivianite
Description
VivianiteA worthwhile display specimen from what is actually the largest tin deposit in the world. The piece features a very sharp, GEM quality, highly lustrous, rich emerald green, prismatic crystal with a beautiful termination on Pyrite matrix. A great quality Vivianite from Huanuni, and certainly better quality than a lot of Vivianites from this mine from the standpoint of gemminess and color, plus the fact that its aesthetically sitting on matrix. Specimen
Several classic
Specimen # BOL711B42
but considering the great size
these are not the finest Pyromorphite specimens
This piece features a few rare
My best guess is that the Zircon crystals were so tightly compacted during their growth that they didn't have any room to completely crystallize and actually formed as amorphous "blebs" under very high temperature and pressure
I will say that this is certainly one of the more lustrous crystal groups from this find
there is little to be desired
and it's because of the tremendous gemminess which allows one to clearly view them whether they're on the surface or directly in the center
and this one would make a great addition to any Colorado collection
Arguably this piece has the FINEST clarity of any piece in the lot as it's virtually WATER CLEAR throughout and features a wide range of insects including small flies (Diptera)
and not crumbly clay (after Allophane) which means that they are much sturdier and allows the pieces to be displayed with ease
