We make our lampshades by mounting fabric or maps like this one, to lampcrafter's styrene, and trim the shade edges with grosgrain ribbon. The rings in the shade cleverly attach to our maple wood base made especially for us in a woodshop just down the road! Our lamps have an 8 foot cord with a switch near the base, and are weighted underneath. 40 watt maximum bulb if using
