XXL Porcelain "Creative-Spackle" Bowl (Blue, White & Black Series)This bowl was highly experimental but turned out just amazing. So worth it The inside is the richest alchemy of blues and darker blues. We used the dried porcelain shavings from the other bowls in the series to create a spackle of sorts, which we paddled into the exterior. The result is what you see here, and is like no bowl you've probably ever seen. The colors of porcelain shavings we used were Upsala blue, jet black, and pure white. Ceramic Artist:

*This serving bowl is marked as a seconds because one side of the bowl slumped ever-so-slightly in the kiln firing

We left the exterior of the bowl naked (where no glaze is applied) to really take advantage of the beauty of the clay and make the inside pop even more

This pot is subtly amazing in its glaze application

and we were thrilled with the outcome of the finished works

Some bowls develop small s-cracks on the bottom during the two high-temperature firings

This XXL porcelain bowl/platter was made using the nerikomi technique in which I add mason stains to powdered porcelain clay and then use various methods to combine it into a stunning work of art
